WHY ARE YOU INVOLVED IN BEEKEEPING?

Ladies Night Essays

The Tuscarawas County Beekeepers Club held a special Ladies Night on Thursday, May 13, 2010. Ladies in attendance were asked to write an essay in 25 words or less about why they are involved in beekeeping. The essays were read and the club voted on their favorite. Tonya Alander received a ham for having written the most popular essay, which is the first one below.

He said bees are what we need!
With great love, I watch and feed
Because those little bees I now need
Even though they poopy on me!

Bees add spice to my life. Whether it be beautiful flowers, tasty honey, (free) sting therapy or learning new things that help the bees.

I'm involved in beekeeping to keep close to my "honey" and getting stung once in a while goes along with it.

I got bees for the holistic care of our livestock. We use a large amount of honey for keeping our calves, lambs and kids healthy.

I enjoy being involved in beekeeping for the natural and healthy benefits that the honeybees give to us.

I'm not involved in beekeeping but I help the club to help my dad support his passion.

I see the beauty of God's creation in honey bees. I desire to help nurture the honey bees so that they are able to overcome nature's conflicts.
